Friends Meeting House

We meet on the second Wednesday every month at Friends Meeting House, Mount Street, Manchester, M2 5NS (behind the Central Library). See events coded “FMH”.

We ask for a donation (£2.50 for members, £1 for students, £3.50 for others, plus £1.50 for tea or coffee and a biscuit. except at the first meeting attended) to cover the cost of room hire and refreshments. The room (Room G1 or G4) is available for socialising from 7pm with tea and coffee provided.  The formal part of the meeting starts at 7.30pm.  Meetings end around 9.15pm but many of us continue afterwards at The Waterhouse opposite the Town Hall in Princess St.

The new Humanist Discussion Group meets at The Waterhouse at 8.15pm on the third Thursday of the month.

Local groups

Buxton

A local group was started up in Buxton at the end of June 2009 and effectively wound up in October 2010 although very occasional meetings may still be held.  They will be announced on this website.

Stockport

The Stockport group meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 7.15pm for 7.30pm at the Boars Head, Market Place.

Social Events

We hold a number of social events during the year, and often participate in the events of other nearby Humanist groups.
