Where we meet
Friends Meeting House
We meet on the second Wednesday every month at Friends Meeting House, Mount Street, Manchester, M2 5NS (behind the Central Library). See events coded “FMH”
We ask for a donation of £3 at these meetings to cover the cost of room hire and refreshments (£1 for students) except at the first meeting attended. The room (Room 2) is available for socialising from 7pm and the formal part of the meeting starts at 7.30pm.  Meetings end around 9.15pm but many of us continue afterwards at The Waterhouse opposite the Town Hall in Princess St.

Exploring Humanism
We also meet at 6.45pm for 7pm on the fourth Tuesday of the month (except in July, August and December). These ‘Exploring Humanism’ meetings are currently held in the upstairs function room at The Waldorf in Gore Street, Manchester, M1 3AQ (near Piccadilly). We ask for a small donation to cover the cost of room hire.

Introductory Course on Humanism.
The third public presentation of Exploring Humanism – an Introductory Course will be held at Friends Meeting House, Manchester from 7pm to 9pm on six successive Tuesday evenings, commencing 8 June 2010. The cost is £14. The course covers the following topics:

Session 2   Where do Humanists get their Moral Values from?
Session 3   How do Humanists Handle Moral Dilemmas?
Session 4Â Â Â What are the Historical Roots of Humanism?
Session 5Â Â Â What is the Meaning and Purpose of Life for Humanists?
Session 6Â Â Â What do Humanists do? – Celebrations and Campaigns – and
Review of Course: What does Humanism offer the Individual and Society Today?

Local groups
A local group was started up in Buxton at the end of June 2009. The group meets on the 3rd Monday of each month (not August or September) in the piano lounge of the Old Hall Hotel, Buxton View map. See calendar on the left for details of the next meeting, coded “BXT”.
Social Events
We hold a number of social events during the year, and often participate in the events of other nearby Humanist groups.
