Ambles Rambles – Sunday May 28th

GMH is ambling and rambling again this summer!

We will hold a number of walks on the last Sunday of each month. They start at 11 am and involve a two hour, generally flat, walk. We will refresh ourselves either during or after the walk at a café or a pub. The first walk took place on 30 April, around Sale and Chorlton Water Parks. The next walk will be on Sunday May 28th, along the Sett Valley Trail from New Mills towards Hayfield.

We’ll meet on Ensor Road, the entrance road to the Co-op in New Mills, SK22 4NG: turn right off Church Road (A6015) just past traffic lights and the bridge over the River Goyt. For anyone coming by train, New Mills is on the Manchester to Buxton line, leaving Piccadilly at 9.50 and arriving in New Mills Newtown at 10.26. You’ll be collected from the station if you let me know: if not there’ll be plenty of time to walk down Union road to the Coop. Good walking shoes and wet weather gear advisable. There is a cafe and a pub at a half way point. Please contact Rob Grinter at robathome@ntlworld.com with any queries.
