A recent article in the Independent, that can be found here, shows that the UK now has more atheists than people who believe in a God. The study has been carried out by a consortium of academics from a number of universities across the UK.

Funding came from the John Templeton Foundation, a US organisation that funds research at the intersection of religion and science. This builds on 2018 British Social Attitudes survey, which showed that the majority (52%) of the UK population have no religion.

This figure has been used extensively by GMH in our campaigns and publicity material. Unfortunately the article does not provide a link to the study.
